|

Hi
I just bought a Korg Kross Music Station.
And of course I have a problem. I can't get any sound out of the loud speakers. It work fine with headphones.
I have installed Kross 64bit on the Windows 10 platform. When I press the keys, I can see Kross recording the action, but no sound at all.
I can use the keyboard in my DAW (Studio One4), but without any sound from the Synth, but only as a dead keyboard with sound from Studio Ones vst.. Then the idea of the synthesizer is gone.
Of course I read the manual, but I may have misread it somewhere.
Any ideas where I could possibly fix this annoying element
I'm danish, so excuse my english |

The Kross does not contain built-in speakers. The Output R and L/Mono connections on the rear panel are line level outputs that can be connected to an audio amplifier and then to speakers, or to active speakers (which contain internal amplifiers).

Voip : Thanks for reply
But I got that. That isn't the issue of my sound problem. I wish it was
I have understand that it is possible to play through a DAW on your computer, with a USB connection or midi. And I can see Kross 1 Keyboard in settings and I can connect. But - No sound
And Kros react when I press a key, but no sound.
When I click on the RED "KORG" on the lower left corner in KROSS editor, "All Sound Off" appear. But connected? |

Hi,
The USB connection is only there for transporting MIDI messages. The sound will only be available via the Left and Right audio outputs.

Hi OpAmp
Well. Then I guess I don't have to worry about that anymore. A bit annoying though.
Thanks for the brief but never the less accurate, sadly answer

Hi, nwe to the forum so only just seen this.
Audio can be passed via USB.
I am also using Studio One.
In my setup 'Audio Device' is set to Windows Audio, then in Control Panel 'Playback Device' is set to my PCs souncard ['Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)' in my case.
'Recording Device' is set to 'Line (KROSS2)'
Click the record button in the audio track in Studio One and you will have audio from your PC speaker output.
There is latency with this method though. The best setup (if only using your Kross) is to use your Kross as the souncard and plug your audio outputs into an external amp (mine goes into a spare input on my stereo amp)
You've probably worked this out for yourself by now, but hope this has been of some help?
Cheers |

It would appear that it depends on which Kross version you have. The original Kross (Kross 1) specification gives the USB interface as USB-MIDI interface only, whilst the Kross 2 spec lists the USB interface as being USB-MIDI interface and USB Audio interface.
