Electro Harmonix Expression Pedal Next Step is not compatibile with Korg Kronos?
I bought this kinde of pedal and it doesn't work with Korg kronos. It works only with Korg PA4x.

Hmm, that's curious. The Pa4X specifies the XVP-10 expression pedal, which also works with the Kronos.

The Expression Pedal inputs for the Kronos and Pa2X (which also accepts the XVP-10 pedal) have slightly different circuitry, but not enough to make them completely incompatible, so it should be possible to get the Electro Harmonix pedal to work with the Kronos. What sort of cable is being used? Is it TS, or TRS at both ends?

Hy. I used TRS cable at both ends. If I use TC cables, the pedal becomes control voltage pedal =/- 5V. I,m affraid to not damage the keyboard.

From looking at the EHX user manual and the Kronos schematic, it can be seen that a TRS cable needs to be used with the Kronos, but, the Ring and Tip connections need to be crossed over between the two ends of the cable. The Kronos Expression pedal input "expects" the potentiometer wiper to be connected to the Ring, whilst the EHX pedal has the wiper equivalent wired to the Tip.

PS: although the Kronos Expression pedal input expects a 3.3V max input, it will accept 5V without damage.

PPS: It would seem that, if the EHX was used with the Pa2X, the Pa2X would "force" the EHX into CV mode. This is also what may be happening in the Pa4x, if it has the same circuitry as the Pa2X.

I also tried TC cable on both PA4x and Kronos. At PA4x it worked, but at Kronos it didn't work.
It is probably the impedance.

TC? Or did you mean TS cable? If so, then the sleeve on the jack plug will short the ring connection to ground inside the Kronos jack socket, so it wouldn't be able to receive the pedal position signal.

An adapter lead, comprising stereo 1/4" jack plug (TRS) to two mono (TS) jacks i.e. a stereo splitter cable might work, if the stereo (TRS) jack was connected to the Kronos and one of the mono jacks was connected to the EHX pedal. One plug (probably the one for the right channel) might well work, albeit giving 0-5V out, with the Kronos maxing out at 3.3V, the other plug would not. If this arrangement does work satisfactorily, ensure the unused mono jack plug cannot make contact with anything else whilst in use.

I gave up this pedal and ordered the Korg XVP20.
