|
|
I have just bought Arturia KeyLab 49 MkII with one thought in my mind ONLY - Plug it into 88-key Kronos USB A port to extent Kronos capabilities:
- semi-weight keys reserved permanently for kronos 88
- more rotary knobs and faders
- and better pads ( than nanoPads 2 ).
I have not yet read a manual, however I can confirm:
The Arturia Controller works 100%, can be turned off/on anytime, PADS work out of the box.
Encoders and Faders can be easily assigned, most work out of the box ( in USER MODE ), but it might require some adjustments.
Switching MIDI channel on Arturia controller is quick and easy.
I’ve noticed if there is no action from a user, Arturia starts dazzling light show as seen below ( https://streamable.com/gmc67 ,full Res ):
I only spend playing for 4 hours and I already feel better next to Korg Kronos.
A very intuitive controller, and a MUST for 88-key Kronos owners.
UPDATE
If you do live gigs, be AWARE, that STUCK NOTES will occur.
I would say that USB implementation/KARMA or LEAD patches ( controlled externally ) are to blame, because I am not running out of polyphony.
There are some COMBIS that every 10 minutes you have to press COMPARE button.
Arturia KeyLab MkII connected to Mac ( Logic Pro X ) seems to be solid and stable. I played many virtual instruments for two hours and there were no stuck notes. |
