I recently purchased the Korg minilogue XD. Great machine as this is my first synth, I find it super fun to play with. Now I want to use it with ableton live 9.5. The issue is that I'm still noobish with all the terms and HW components so I would appreciate it if I can get clarification on the following:

- Upon research I find that external midi interface is a must for this setup. Is this true?

- If yes, what brand I should get? Im looking for something limited since I will not be purchasing a second instrument for a very long time. low price would be super.

* I got from my friend a Yamaha AG03 mixer already to connect audio with PC. I dont see MIDI connect tho. Thats why Im not sure if I need an external MIDI interface.
* I use Windows OS laptop.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

it all depends on what you are wanting to do with your music.

first things first what style of music are you playing??

and is it studio or live?

are you wanting to connect to a ipad or computer?
if so what operating system on the device?
and how old is the computer or ipad? and the connections.

if it is ipad then you need an ois to midi adaptor.

if your device is basic computer / laptop, pc or mac then usb to midi is nice

you will also want a midi switcher maybe if you plan on several devices in your midi chain.

and then several 5 pin midi cables.

hope that helps!!
