|
|
Hello,
I have some questions:
Which second SSD do you recommend for the Kronos2-88?
What is the maximum hard limit on space (in GB/TB)?
Does Korg service center purchase any SSD for a Kronos2-88 under warranty?
What are the steps to install and configure the new SSD?
Thank you. |

If your unit is still under warranty, either wait unless your SSD is already near full or contact Korg to know if an authorized service center can install a secondary one for you while keeping your full warranty.
If you can wait, it's easy to DIY install a secondary SSD. More complex is to replace the primary one with another (correct procedure is here somewhere if ever you need it). On my K2 I installed a new 250 Gb primary SSD which is way enough for me (also placed the factory one as secondary), but I know some other installed much bigger SSDs. _________________ My Kronos 7 |

Read what I said there (link below), but I advise you not to do it as you have been on every forum and facebook page regarding the kronos and asking many questions everyday regarding issues you are having that clearly show you are not ready for opening up a kronos and sticking a SSD in and you seem to have many problems with your brand new kronos since you got it.
But the information is here if you want to play and do it right. If you don't know how to use a pc to clone drives and make bootable cds for the programs needed, again I advise you don't do it and take it to a korg centre to do it for you.
Largest drives that have worked are 1TB that has been tried but I bet a 2TB drive will work too as it is a 32bit OS. I have 2 500GB in mine. There is no need for a really large drive unless you are a power user and wanting to buy a lot of the libraries and a 500GB I worked out can easily take the full korg shop libraries on sale I would ever want to buy.

Yep, that's exactly the one I was referring to. Thanks Purgatory. _________________ My Kronos 7 |

@Purgatory,
Thank you for all your help. I am asking the Korg service center to add a SSD to my Kronos2. I will keep the stock SSD (60G) in place and add the other SSD to store all of my libraries over time. |
