I mostly used Combis when gigging as well.
I believe they're very similar to Kurz Multis

These are the areas I'd focus on most

Timbre Parameter tab
MIDI
MIDI channel
- set the channel for all 16 instruments
- to stack/layer multiple sounds, set them to the same channel here
Pitch
- here you will find Transpose and Detune

MIDI Filter / Zones tab
Keyboard Zones
- set the keyboard range for each of the 16 instruments
- focus on Top Key and Bottom Key (ignore slope for now)
- to change the note values, you can use Date Slider, Data Wheel, inc/dec button
- much quicker to do ENTER + (actual keyboard note) shortcut
Velocity Zones (optional)
- use if you feel adventurous
- create velocity switches or crossfading
- example, piccolo trumpet: low velocity = 105, high - 127
- now only the hardest keyboard hits will bring in the piccolo trumpet
- anything less than 105 velocity, no piccolo trumpet sound

IFX tab

MFX/TFX tab

Ask later about the FX when you're ready.

The overall signal flow is covered in the FX sections as well.
Very good to know how sound is routed thru the Kronos.
