kronos sending a mute command via foot pedal ( damper)

Post by mpabisz »

hey all,

This might not be kronos related specifically, but I figure ill give a try here.

I use cubase as my DAW. for some reason, when i press the damper pedal on the kronos, it mutes the first track. when i let go of the pedal, the track unmutes.

Im just wondering how to stop it from doing that. I didnt mess with any midi controls. not sure how it started. for a temp fix, i just make sure the first track im using isnt anything i need.

thanks!

Damper input on Kronos is not assignable to other midi functions.
But maybe you plugged the damper pedal into the switch or foot pedal inputs and now the damper is sending switch messages through the foot switch or foot pedal inputs.

If that is not the case, then i suspect you have midi bypass or routing going on in Cubase? I know karma does some midi message conversions, so you may want to try turning karma off, and see if that changes anything.

If the midi message is being converted in Cubase, then that is something i cannot trace to a solution.
