Hello all, I have a D-1 piano that I bought about a year ago. I really want to love this piano , but I can't seen to get the same responsive lush sounding piano sounds that I see and hear on all of the online D-1 demos.
All of the pianos sound flat and unresponsive, and very weak in the octave above middle C. High end and low end sound OK, but when playing something in the low end like a boogie or shuffle pattern, the mids sound distorted.
This seems to happen on all piano voices and changing settings for brilliance or touch have no effect on this. I have tried a using headphones, a few different powered speakers (K8.2,K10.2, Yamaha DSR112) as well as Roland KB400 and the distortion and weak midrange persist. I have also tried new high end cables to connect the D-1 to all of these options.
I don't see many options on this board to adjust the sound, so I am getting a little confused. Like I mentioned , there is a lot to like with this board and I really want to love it, but there just seems to be somethign missing or wrong.
Any help is much appreciated. |

This does seem like an issue with the D1 itself. It could be due to a poor internal connection, or a malfunctioning component. It's worth taking it back for investigation, especially if still in warranty.
