|
|
I'm having a really frustrating problem when recalling a newly created set of Combi patches.
I want to use a second keyboard to control the onboard sounds in the Kronos.
I've dug out my Novation X-Station 61 controller keyboard and have set its MIDI output to channel 2. On the Kronos I assigned a CX-3 Prog to a fresh Combi, set that timbre to MIDI channel 2 and it played fine. I saved the patch and created some others. However, when I go back to that patch, the organ is barely audible.
The only way I'm able to get the volume back to normal is by going to the Control Surface tab and moving the 'Expression' knob (even by a single value - the volume immediately jumps back up). It seems that no matter what the setting is when the patch is saved, it always reverts to the 'Expression Minimum' setting from the original Prog patch.
This doesn't happen when the same Patch is set to MIDI channel 1 and played from the Kronos keyboard.
The only expression pedal I am using is plugged into the Kronos, and is globally set to CC#04. It only affects any timbres assigned to MIDI channel 1 within a Combi.
I've monitored the output of the X-Station with MIDI-OX and isn't sending any spurious CC messages - just the correct note values.
Any ideas please?

In your situation Global->Controllers use "Reset" in "Foot Pedal Behavior" and not "Keep Current". This is discussed in Op Manual p237 and 792. _________________ Korg KronosX/Pa4x/M3 • Ableton • Komplete 13 • Omnisphere • soundcloud.com/allandd |

Thank you alland.
I had initially changed the Foot Pedal Behavior but had forgotten to 'Write Global Setting' afterwards. You reminded me to check again. It now works as intended.
Much obliged. |
