Perhaps-ing that a pa5x might be around the corner I've read two sides: folks who are happy with their Pa4x; and those looking for new features.
That said, what is a GOOD Price on a used Pa4x, 61-key right now? Thanks ever so much!!!

I guess it depends on what is good for the buyer, or good for the seller.
There is one here in my house for sale for $2500. shipped. Very light use and in great shape, with all updates. Never had a glitch with it.
It belongs to a friend, but it has been in my studio of the past 18 months.
The only use it has had was by me.
Seems like a fair price for me, but I already have one. Smile

Hard Drive? Size?
OS version?
Why are you selling? 61 or 76?

It is a 61, no hard drive added. OS 3.1.
My friend who owns it is a long-time Yamaha addict and there seems to be no cure for that disease. The reason it has been at my house for so long is that I was trying to teach him the operating system and how to navigate.
He just lost interest in it, and quit coming for his "lessons". He bought it new, mostly because I had one and he liked the way it sounds when I play it.
He is even older than I am Smile and likes the fact that he can pick up his Yamaha PSR more easily. He primarily plays at nursing homes, sometimes two a day, and thinks the Korg might be too heavy, even though he never actually took it out to play anywhere.
He has pre-ordered the new Yamaha PSR SX900, coming out in October.
I have kept the 4X up to date, because I leave my 4X at the place where I work every night, and I can use his when I want to work up a new song at home.

So far, ONE person has a Pa4x for sale, but no one has yet suggested a good price for a used Pa4x-61. Please do so! Is a Pa4x a good investment RIGHT NOW?

Investment? Keyboards do NOT appreciate in value so NO, it is not a good investment. Perhaps Bonds, Stocks, ETF's, not musical instruments.

If you want fun, joy, and memories, get a Pa4x and move on.

2500 is a great price for very good/almost new condition including shipping. Most of refurbishing one can be done for free with the only cost being time spent doing it. The main things that would raise the value of a used one would be:
1. New pads or fresh cleaned pads

2. Checking spring alignment of the keys

3. Thoroughly cleaning the boards (carefully use only 95% rubbing alcohol or higher if absolutely necessary because any other type will risk water damage) with compressed air

4. Replugging all flex cable connections and making sure they are secure.

5. Replacing the hard drive (76 key model) with either another HDD
or SSD

6. Selling it fully programmed (with your own set)

7. Reseating the screen and spring

8. Changing the clock battery

The one for sale has had no reason for any adjustments, as it has been used very ightly. It would include my Songbook entries, perhaps a hundred. It would include text files, midi files, CDG files and a number of user styles, some converted from midi.
It has no hard drive.
I do believe it is priced quite reasonably, and the main reason I mentioned it here was to help the OP determine what would be a great deal for a PA4X-61.
It has not been advertised anywhere yet.

What is the difference in price between a 61key and a 76key?

Would you put a used 76key at $3000?

Semi weighted, velocity sensitive with after touch is the spec for both 61 and 76 key versions.

I would think that second hand there would be a $3-400 difference between 61 and 76 keys
