This video goes viral atm., being said it's leaked recordings from the recent album in progress. Sounds legit to me. Thoughts?

I reckon he's using some synths on it. A few by the sound of it. Wink

it still sounds like raw midi to me
but a rig run down if they are using new gear to make the old sounds.
that would be cool!

It's a leak of some sort according to the info on the upload. "Pre-masters" so probably from the studio that is mastering it. Fingered slurs galore that sound like hitting a high note then a low note. Bossanova preset on the Rhythm Ace. And yeah the playing doesn't sound too live, considering the uniform velocity of every note. The theremin is a bit weak really. As you said, it really does sound like grabbing a MIDI file and then plugging it into a GM machine. A nice GM machine though.
I'm not too fussed over what synth/s are being used, but I'd have some fun with programming some patches to play the MIDI file with.

i get close on the radias and roland gear
then throw in the scrittmacher in the mix...
it could to have been a remix slice and dice....
at least in to a midi program....

hard to tell with out a rig run down...
or a true source of who is doing the music...

No idea what gear. But is that still interesting for a fake? Which it is. Unfortunately. Popped just up on YT and in facebook's Jarre group.

Dunno if that news is unfortunate, as like I said earlier, it is rather weak for what one would expect from JMJ, really it's good to know it's not his work!

Yes, maybe. He's pretty good in what he still does. For his age.

Having a peek around FACT mag today, I found something you may be interested in: https://www.factmag.com/2019/11/07/jean-michel-jarre-eon-generative-music-app/

It's not an album, but I also saw something on his twitter with him sitting behind a bunch of record-looking stuff. If you are hungry for some JMJ content, perhaps chase up what is behind all that?

As a user said on YT, "EoN will never produce a great hit. It is like a semi-conscious, dreaming Jarre." - I side this!

I was going to cite that comment also, but thought about it and all generative music ends up like that. I think it'd make for a good basis to build over the top of in a live situation.
