I just upgraded the system SSD in my Kronos 2 from the factory disc to a Samsung 1 Tbyte drive. I cloned the original drive and then extended the final partition. Everything boots fine but the disc only shows a total size of 54Gbytes in the Kronos (with 29Gbytes free). Is there a maximum disc size for the system disc? I see people have upgraded to 500 Gbytes. Anyone managed to go to 1 Tbyte?

Thanks in advance.

You probably forgot to add the extra space of your new SSD to the non-system partition. Fixing this will show your entire new SSD. About max size, 2 TB is a safe bet and I remember someone here who mentioned successfully installing such a SSD in his unit. Any SSD beyond that size will be both quite expensive and not guaranteed to work since this is the maximum reachable limit for FAT32 with 512B sectors. Unless someone here succeeded to use a SSD with 4096B sectors in his Kronos. That would be interesting to test though.

Did you extend the main partition? You said you extended the "final" partition.

If it is a separate partition it will show as a second drive in your drop down menu.

If not, then you need to go back and use Gparted again. I struggled the first time with mine....I extended the block which included the partition but forgot to actually extend the data partition along with it.

That would answer why you only show a 54 GB drive.

I have a 1TB in both of mine.
