New on musik messe

Its not the new high end from Kurzweil tough (according to Dave Weisser)
Its more aimed to replace the Forte Se
It however has double the polyphony of the Forte
But only 1/4th the sample Ram
also seems to miss the Organ engine, but has the FM and the full VAST.. _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

Interesting, but I'd loved Kurzweil to keep the elegancy of PC3K.
This new one LOOKS cheaper.
Also, I can bet they're recycling the same sounds from PC3 and Forte. Nothing new in that department
This PC4 model seems to be intended as a "bang for the buck" model. Definitely not the new flagship unit. That's still the Forte
Now I'm curious to see the response from Korg and the other brands

Roland, as always, will update the firmware for Jupiter 80 and everything will be cool! Yamaha, hmm, probably there will not be an adequate answer. Korg Either with firmware Pa4x, or Pa5x! )))) |

While it has 2GB of flash ROM like Forte SE you can load 2GB of user samples into Flash as opposed to the 188 MB limit of the Forte SE. Also I think the PC4 will weigh around 27 lbs which makes it portable for those who carry their own gear _________________ Kronos 2 88, Kurzweil Forte |

Unfortunately I'm returning the demo Forte 7 I ordered from Sweetwater. I love the TP40 action, but the thing is a beast at 41 pounds. Too heavy to gig regularly for just a few songs a night.
I hope Kurzweil comes out with a 76 key PC4. That would make a great gigging board, esp with FM-VAST and the ability to load user samples.
I hear they're going with Medeli action instead of Fatar. Never heard of them until recently, but I got a chance to try out a Medeli 88 key at Sam Ash, and it was pretty decent... |

The Forte 7 is a bit heavy but not quite as bad as some other boards. The worst one is the Montage 8. The church group I play with just got one and it has a wonderful action. I’m so glad that I don’t have to move that one as not only it weighs 63 lbs but is quite bulky as well. A Kronos 88 is not quite as bad but I would not want to move that around on a regular basis either. Finding a keyboard that is not too heavy but yet has a good action and sounds good to your ears is important as your back will let you know! _________________ Kronos 2 88, Kurzweil Forte |
