Hi,

New R3 user and first time poster here. I managed to get the Sound Editor working. Regular USB cable didn't work but a 5-pin to USB adapter cable did.
I'm trying out various patches from here and there. I can load 'library' patches but not individual 'program' patches.
Is there a way to do it?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi,

For regular USB, did you first install the Korg USB driver?

For the invidual program patches that you refer to. Are these maybe plain MIDI SysEx dumps?

Bye

I did install the USB driver. I didn't put a shortcut on the desktop for the driver but it's installed.
I can't load files with the .r3p file extension. Only works for the .r3l extension.

I'm on Windows 10.

Hi,

For the driver, plug in the R3 and the run the "Install Korg USB-MIDI device". It should detect the R3 and reserve a MIDI port for it.

For the .r3p files, open an existing or create a new library. Select then one program and right click on it. You get a context menu where you can choose open. The dialog box will allow you to open an .r3p file and will load it at that position of the library file.

Have fun
