Don't expect anything to come of it!
I drew by hand and then created an enhanced version of the EMX-1 in Serif Drawplus 5 around 2005/6.
Sent it to Korg, heard nothing. Then years later they released the e2/e2s with some of those features added!
Korg are s**t at customer relations and listen to no-one when it comes to feature requests. |

That's the way every company is nowadays! The days where companies care is over. They're all just capitalists now. That's because they're just too big and the personal touch is long gone. Only small firms care, because they have to. If they didn't it affects their business.
People seem to have this notion that you have to be a c**t to be in business, but you don't that's just greed, nothing more!
Shame, as the EMX/ESX are far superior to those stupid Volcas! Yeah Volcas have new features, but these would be better implemented into electribe systems.
The idea they have is to create small units, all very similar, then charge small amounts to sell more. This is a good business model, but s**t for customers.
Take a look at the EMX/ESX, very little difference in architecture yet two separate units that could easily have been merged into one. Even worse with the two new tribes! They are identical apart from the software as was shown by the hacks on this forum!
In this day and age, I see no reason to limit sampling memory either. The electribe samplers would be soooo much easier and more fun if the memory was vastly increased. Even better would be the ability to read direct from SD card and direct loading of samples on startup, as most modern samplers do.
One thing I want is a simple sampler with good editing and plenty of memory, which is easy to use and has the ability to synthesise the samples, ala MC-909. Very hard to come by such a thing now. |

Eek! These are Frankensteins!
I'm quite happy with the hardware as-is. I can work quite quickly and efficiently until... I have to menu dive! Like changing a part from mono to poly...
I would like to see a firmware update that includes:
1. Complete revamp of the menus so that they work logically and are in some sort of order. Possibly pair related settings on the same menu page.
2. The ability to assign any menu page to any Shift-pad shortcut.
3. Add a second parameter to FX settings accessible with Shift-edit. This can help clean up the FX list some and allow the FX to be more flexible.
4. Add a new setting for Pattern Sets to allow them to play either Repeat (as they are now) or Sequential, essentially adding a 64-cell song mode.
5. The ability to save/load more settings from the CF card, including Pattern Sets (songs), Part settings (patches), pad shortcut sets, etc.
I'd happily pay a small fee to be able to download and install this on my E2s. |
