I'm working on some programs based on loaded samples.
I find that my sampled programs are lower level than existing and factory programs.

Since the default gain values in programs are already at maximum (Multisample Level, Filter Output Level, and Amp Level), I can't find any way to increase the overall level of the program.

The typical "trick" is to insert a compressor as IFX and change the ratio to 1:1, which can provide up to 24dB of gain, but handing gain scaling in an IFX doesn't work well when substituting the programs into existing Combis.

Are there any other ways of easily increasing levels, other than externally normalizing the source WAV files and re-loading all the samples?

Have you tried the "Sample Parameters" dialog which is available from the Menu Button in the Osc1/2 Basic pages?

Here, you have (for each sample, among others):
Level
LEQ Gain, MEQ Gain, HEQ Gain
Driver
Low Boost

Some combination of raising these or all of them should create a substantial signal boost, although it may color the sound as well....

Thanks Stephen, I often forget about the functions out of sight on the Menu! Those look like they would do the job.

Sample Parameters is there on the menu, but grayed out. I suppose I'll have to clear the auto-load userbanks and load the non-userbank version?

Are those sample parameters stored with the Program data in the PCG, or in the sample (userbank or non-userbank)?

You could also use the multiply function in the AMS mixers with an arbitrary value like exponential velocity or even a knob fixed value (like max) and use it as an amplitude modulation source. This for sure will increase any sample recorded too low.

The best solution of course is to always sample at 0 dB (without ever clipping). I've seen quite a few wrong examples/videos in which inexperienced people recommend to record at -3 dB or even -6 dB for "safety". This simply doesn't work in the Kronos (as in many other digital samplers) and will only increase noise and reduce the S/N ratio. The only parameter that should not be used if you plan to use samples polyphonically is the +12 dB boost, which is for mono samples such as drums or loops.
