I use external hard drives for backup and large projects. Keeping the original drive as the primary is a good idea.. _________________ Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506. |

I tried to replace factory drive with a Kingston 250 GB ssd and the DVDs could´t format the drive.
In order to format the drive or clone it can it be done on Mac or Windows?
Or this procedure requires Linux environment only.
TIA |
I've done mine under Windows with no problem, but you need the right tools. If done correctly, you should not need the Korg DVDs. Follow exactly the procedure given by Purgatory at the 4th post in the link below. Unless you lost the contents of your original SSD, you can ignore the rest of the topic. Later there I also added the bootup speed improvement on my K2, since newer good quality SSDs are faster than the original coming in the Kronos.

Just putting it out here:
Never got the System V2 or System V3 dvds to complete on a 120GB drive.
Ended up cloning (and expanding) for both K1 och K2(SE) which worked flawlessly. Used Gparted. |
