Reverb on MFX 2 only?

Post by kottan »

searching www left me behind with the impression of limited availability of some (many) effects, among those reverb effects.

According to the information I gathered reverbs are available on MFX 2 only, isn't it?

This was at least the only place I found those effects, however it seems to combine with some restrictions on using double effects further up the line.

Any thoughts of users to this topic are highly welcome,
best regards, and Merry Christmas,

The Owners Guide and Parameter Guide have chapters detailing the effects section and its limitations.

The Owners Guide, page 45, has an overview of the microSTATION's effects, and details of which effects are available in each of the effects "positions" (i.e. insert, total and master). Using the Parameter Guide in conjunction with reading the above, it can be seen that there are a couple of reverb type effects available in MFX1, notably D11 multitap chorus, and D13 early reflections, but the remaining reverb effects are only available in MFX2.

Double effects use more digital signal processing resource in the microSTATION than Single effects, so using them has consequences on the number of effects slots available.

It is so. I also use Korgman in his combinations of multitap chorus and delay. I probably use reverb on MFX2 because the reverb on Microstation is good, and Delay I'm doing on the external effect specifically via the Boss RC505.
