I have a Yamaha Wx5 wind controller but I don't know how to get the most out of the M3M's wind patches. When I play the Wx5 with the M3M's winds they're dull and not very expressive.
Does anyone have experience in this regard and know how optimize the M3M's patches for use with a wind controller? |

best way to attack the sound issue is to video an example of your sound or operation issue with any thing!!
I we hear the sound it is making as well as see your connection and operation of your controller...
then and only then we can see and hear what is happing...
so a song or passage then come back and do a voice over of what you are having issues with!!
as a tech and a music creator artist as well as an instructor...
technique can be part of the issue....
I use my wind controllers with the roland Integra 7 as well as Yamaha sound modules... the I7 works the best for me....
I have used the m3 units as well as the radias units with wind controller for flute, bassoon, sax... but for mod sounds or sounds that are not a recreation of the exact instrument...
the I7 has a better string and wind library at least for the stuff I do. _________________ my site klimaco.net

Thank you for your reply. I will do my best to describe what I am experiencing and it is very simple.
When I play the Wx5 through the M3M I get slightly more dynamic range and timbre change from the synth patches than I do the wind patches. It seems like the saxes etc are not designed for as much expressivity as the synths. I hope it comes down to tinkering.
The Wx5 is set to be very sensitive to breath control. The problem seems to be the M3M patches.
Does anyone know if there are settings in individual patches, particularly the wind ones, that are more accommodating to a wind controller's expressivity? |
