I'm so sorry to hear that. RIP John.
I've actually been on a Crimson "kick" lately, listening to a Crimson album each day when I go running. Crimson made some amazing music and Wetton was a big part of it.
The three Crimson albums he was a part of were:
- Lark's Tongue In Aspic
- Starless and Bible Black
- Red
All three of those albums are absolute classics - and then there's UK, and Asia. A fantastic musician. _________________ Stephen Kay - KARMA Developer • Karma-Lab - karma-lab.com

I'm saddened by this news too.
In my case, I loved his work best in UK, a group which has proven to be amazingly popular over the years with only two studio albums to leave their mark in music history. The musicianship from all involved was top notch, but the pairing of John Wetton and Eddie Jobson were the center of gravity and the core of the group's talent and sound.
I hang out at the Eddie Jobson forum too. I'll have to swing by and leave my respects. _________________ PRAY FOR THIS PLANET!! |

I only have Red from the "classic era" as an album a mate of mine played me in 1984 and it resonated with me greatly at the time. I got it on CD when I could get it. I played Red today in memoriam. It is still an amazing album, especially Starless.
When I said about the loss to my Missus, she said "John who?"
So I had to get the iPhone out and play a song from his 90s solo album "Archangel" called "I Can't Lie Any More" that my daughter used to sing to in the car (she'd deny it now ). And then play some King Crimson (Red), some Asia (Asia), some Steve Hackett ("Genesis Revisted" and the "Tokyo Tapes") and of course some UK - amongst many other things that he did.
Superb bass player and singer, who will be missed. _________________ Derek Cook - Java Developer

Another "Great" has passed but at least we all had the opportunity to enjoy his music. Sad indeed.
This is very good.
