Care to tell us what the link was about?

The link works fine for me. The post above is by Jack Hotop from KORG USA and he's linking to a picture of himself probably on stage doing a product demo, with the text "The Future Will Be Revealed".voip wrote:The link has either expired or is for an audience, I'm not in.
.
Jack Hotop is a KORG Jedi Master. The force is very strong in this one.
This actually has me thinking we *MAY* see a new Workstation at NAMM in a few days. Fingers crossed here for sure.
Regards
Sharp.

Now that would be a surprise... but no a kronos replacement, as that would make the golden kronos illogical....Sharp wrote:The link works fine for me. And not a Krome replacement either
So what will it be?

You never know. The KRONOS was released in 2011.but no a kronos replacement, as that would make the golden kronos illogical
Could be that too. The Krome was released in 2012.And not a Krome replacement either
Thankfully Jack doesn't demo Guitar Tuners so I'm actually quite interested to see what this turns out to be.So what will it be?

I just spoke to Mr. Hotop.
He and Korg are happy to reveal that Gold Finger just purchased all available Gold Kronos stock, and based on that transaction Korg are now forced to release the next generation Workstation.
Stay tuned more info to come...
Billy.

Most up for replacement in my vision is the stagepiano, i definately love the concept of the V1, yet the sound is really getting dated.. espescially the acoustic parts...Jan1 wrote:A new workstation would be awesome, but don't forget there's also the VOX stage organ/piano which KORG showcased on several occasions.
However if they add the king korg engine and a sample based engine the SV-2 could really compete with the Nord stage...

And then there is allways the possibillity of an Oasys 2... a Kronos base that will be expanded with new engines and maybe even features in the future..

I would figure that since Jack is a sound design programmer for Korg, among other things, that this NEW thing is either synthesizer or workstation oriented.

OK, now I'm interested.
Gadget on Mac is good stuff - but honestly, I don't use Mac, so that was more respect from me to a good idea, than anything that will cut my purse strings. Karp isn't bad either, but it just so happens that the Odyssey sound wasn't one that worked for me, so respect, but passing on it.
But something new in the hardware world? I'm definitely watching this with interest.
On a serious note, here's my list of top speculations for it:
Krome major software update. OK, unlikely, but it could be very interesting. As I pointed out before, it's a workstation that hasn't had a lot of love since it came out.
Anadigi competitor to Behringer's synth, and Roland's JD series.
Polylogue full size analogue synth, based on the lessons learned and successes of the Mini/Monologues.
Refresh of stage piano or KingKorg. Hell, maybe a combination of the two in one device! That would be a mighty tool indeed, and quite within KORG's abilities.
Eleclan. The tribe of Electribe has expanded to a mighty clan! And now there's a more powerful, higher polyphony iteration of the same engine.
These are the relatively obvious directions of expansion that I see.
