I have read that someone was doing it successfully but I don't think it was on this forum.
Might have been the yamaha site. I used to own a 710 before the3x

I did this successfully but several years ago - wanted some nice "trio" jazz styles - worked perfectly - think I still have the styles somewhere....
Just created the BIB song using CM7 and then set up the BIB variations - this was on an older version of BIB but cannot see why this wouldn't work today.

Cheers

Hi Barry
I think there were quite a few done for the yammies.
I remember Micheal Beddersom included biab option in his midifile to style software. So I imagine quite a number of yammie users tried doing it.

Hi Pete,
possibly during the Pa800 days, I remember Rob Sherratt bringing up the topic of trying to create styles for our pa800's from band in a box styles and sharing them with forum members.
I think from memory he even checked to see if there would be copyright issues.
Concept never took off though.

It's moved more towards audio now a days, but the old midi styles still exist
I thought I might take another look at it again.
There probably are some nice simple jazz trio styles amongst them.
I update every couple of years or so, but don't really get much time to use it.
Prefer the keyboards.

Found a nice slow jazz ballad, sort of a cocktail piano feel about it.
Been testing 32 bar loops so it's constantly changing slightly.
(Had to do a bit of editing on the biab style itself, unfortunately as it tends to include loops that don't quite work in a keyboard.)

Actually tried it with song midifile to style convertor too.
Even though it didn't have chord changes, it still put together a style very quickly.

Biab can generate some quite nice intro's, nowadays too.

I can send you a copy if you like when I finish it.
Just be interested to get a bit of feedback as to whether it's worth doing or not.
