If you just want to access the hard drive via PC, you do NOT need the driver. For other Midi over USB activities, yes ....you do need to install the driver. _________________ Sam

After connecting the cable to your PC you must select the internal drive and "enable" the connection in Media Mode
See page 913 in the PA4X manual under "Connecting one of the internal drives to a personal computer"
Cheers

That's very interesting, thanks.
Wanting an additional security save, would I be able to save 'all' to an external drive if I enabled as you described? And would I connect my external drive to the usb slot or to the other small square connector in the back of the KB? |

You can save the SET to a USB flash drive, SD Card or the internal hard drive if available. If you connect the keyboard to your computer with a USB Cable, you'd be able to simply drag and drop the files into the drives connected to the computer.

Hi Dr. M
Just confirming you are using the Type B (Device) USB port (rear) i.e. this cable type
I cannot see any reason this would not work if you are pressing "Enable" in Media Mode for the USB to PC connection.
As Sam says, you do not need the MIDI driver unless you are wanting to use the USB connection for MIDI (not data transfer)
If this still doesn't work I would be getting your local service centre to test it just in case you actually have a hardware problem on the PA4X
Can you fry it on a different PC (maybe a friend's) - that might eliminate a problem at the PC end - remember MIDI driver is not required.
Let us know how you go

Hi,
no, USB-Connection as described above ( with installed KORG-MIDI-Driver for your OS !) works fine. _________________ Greetings from East-Frisia, Germany

I had this problem today.
Have been connecting regularly in past.
So I copied to USB stick and put that in the computer. Computer would not read the stick.
I rebooted the computer and it then worked.
