Are you a 5 year club Kronos owner ?
The Kronos was announced at the winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California in January, 2011.
Many of us could not wait and ordered our Kronos ASAP or in 2011.
I am enjoying my 88 even more so it seems.
What a fabulous and inspirational instrument.
How about you ? Any Kronos stories to share from the past 5 years ? _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Ordered March 2011, and my K61 finally arrived 4 months later, but I've now upgraded to the latest K88
Nothing from the rivals has tempted me away... why would it, I've got the best keyboard in the world. Still discovering amazing things it can do, it's like having a new synth everyday.
It sounds daft, but I still get a moment of excitement when it boots up. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |

Yes, definitely.
I would say that as time goes by you discover the real power of this synth. _________________ Chris (Belgium) |

I have the Kronos for about 4 years. However, I already started writing software for it before that time. It was a great way to learn the Kronos. On the other hand, I'm still learning and actually, a lot of parts still have been untouched (like the sequencer), or mainly untouched (some EXis, KARMA).
So I think for the next 5 years the Kronos is all I need. _________________

I am on my second Kronos; bought an early K61 because of reported keybed issues and later replaced it with a K2-88. It is the center-piece of my music and they have performed flawlessly since day one. I don't see anything else that makes me consider replacement and really don't expect to do so until the next "quantum leap" in workstation technology comes out. My only issue is polyphony and a lot of that is self inflicted and could be solved with a second Kronos or Kronos module (wishful thinking). To be honest polyphony is the only thing I need to keep Kronos for another 5-10 years. It does everything I need and a lot i don't. _________________ JP

I was an early adopter after reading the specs. Its been many years and I still find things that I did not know. Its just amazing sound when you play the pianos. And then Karma brings a whole universe of potential.
Love the unlimited sampling / streaming compared to Yamaha's expensive limited memory.
I keep the dust off my K61 and it never gets moved. _________________ http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1251 |

I got my KX88 in 2012 then bought the K288 in 2015. The keyboard sound is still inspiring and learning new things about the keyboard. One thing for sure is Korg has been gracious in keeping the older users updated free. My only complaint is the Berlin Grand. I wish they would replace it another piano but that's a personal preference is guess. I have been very satisfied so far. _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7 |

I had to sell mine last year. Looking round at stuff at the moment to get a replacement companion to my Stage 2 and I can't see anything I'd rather have. It's still just such a great all rounder! _________________ : Nord Stage 2 HA88 : Korg Kronos 61 : Korg Kronos 2 73 : MacBook Pro : |

I am rediscovering the Berlin ( thanks to the forum).
I added +20 release time to all the Berlin programs. It does help.
But I wish they would resample a Beckstein in order to fix the problem notes. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

5 years for me. I still have the same k88. It still leaves the audience wide eyed and mouths open. Great machine! |

Has it been that long already? I bought mine when they were all backordered and none of the local GC's had any, so I drove to Chicago and bought a floor model. I've used it ever since in a few different bands now. It's survived outdoor gigs in sun, rain, and cold, not to mention all the bar gigs. So far no issues to report. _________________
