I dread the updates but have got through them with help from the awesome members here. The update is ready to go but I would like to know exactly which files should be included on the flash drive.
If I recall correctly the manuals folder should be eliminated but I don't know which of all the remaining files should be on the flash drive. Also, has anyone done this update yet and how do they like it?
thanks, Denny C _________________ Kronos 2 61, Wavestation A/D, Yamaha Genos and others. |

Hi Denny
Just copy them all exactly as per the instructions - sure the PDFs will not have any affect but it really doesn't matter about removing them.
Copied all as per manual and all worked fine.... loving the new Layer-Split function!!!
Cheers

Yeah, long story short, just extract the zip file to the root folder within the USB flash drive.
When in Global mode on the Kronos, tap the menu in the top right, and select "Update system software" or something... I forget exactly what the menu says. It'll ask you to insert the medium (USB or CD that has the software update) and then it'll update.
Once it's done updating, it'll ask you to reboot (restart system or similar)
Then you reboot and it should boot up with the new system installed.
As usual, back up your stuff before you do anything _________________ Korg Kronos 88 2, Korg Kronos 73, Kurzweil K2600S

and make sure your Fat32 USB thumb drive has only the 3.1 files on it.
No other files such as the Uptown funk midi _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

It might be a small thing but I removed all the non english PDF's from the Manuals folder.
I figure I am not going to learn French or German on my Kronos.
But it is a long term goal to learn languages _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Did anybody see release notes? They weren't included in my download. _________________ Korg Kronos 61 (2); Kurzweil PC4; Casio Privia PX-350m; Macbook Pro |

There is an 8 page doc on the improvments/bug fixes.
I don't recall an actual doc on the 3.1 install. There is a reference to that but the doc did not jump out at me. But after doing several upgrades, this one was comfortable or easy _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
