from gear Junkies+
"Thanks to its new "Universal Import" capabilities, Kontakt 2 reads more than 30 different file and sample formats, now also including Acid, Akai S-5000/S-6000, AppleLoops, Battery 2, Emu EIV/EOS/ESi, HALion, Korg Triton, Kurzweil, MachFive, Reason NN-XT, Reaktor, Roland S5XXX/7XXX and SoundFont 2."

what does it mean for you...
i think that we will be able to load our beloved programs on Kontakt
and to play our triton even without the korg's hardware...
isn't it....
also NN-XT..is appreciated.... _________________ i'm a collector of sound's souls

I don't think you should be throwing your Triton away just yet
All it means is it will import samples and programs from the Tritons sampler format. Programs which use the Tritons onboard samples won't be included
So it wouldn't be a replacement for your whole Triton, just the sampler bit
I think the conversion will probably be quite basic too - just keymaps, ADSR settings, and maybe an approximation of some other settings.
Kontakt 2 is looking very cool though, if a bit pricey. |

Personally, I am very excited about kontakt 2, particulary because of multichannel, and no, I would not get rid of your triton at all.... |

I was waiting for something similar. I'll be really happy to spend 399$ for it. _________________ http://www.synthaddicted.com |

Kontakt 2 rules. No, it won't replace your Triton. but it will replace alot of other stuff. |
