a community topic where everyone can ask questions about the Pa4x while others answer them... Nicely in one place..
There is one insert effect for the keyboard parts, is this one insert effect for each part or one effect shared by all 4 parts?
Can you have more then 1 splitpoint?
Can you play samples from SD memmory, HD or USB stick? |

My question:
did they removed MOTORIZED tilt screen? and now you have to use hand to bring the screen up and down?
because I dont see the button for that like Pa3x-76.
Thanks. |

What about Sample compression feature? If still present, how's that going to affect the 400 MB user sampling ....? Is it up to 400 MB using the compression...? _________________ Sam

That would be cool, but I don't think they will give us that much for as little as $5k arranger

My guess , 128MB on board (fixed) + 256MB removable/upgradable (total 384MB out of the box ~ 400MB)
With compression option we can get close to 800MB |

Yes but you see they didn't mention anything about "up to 800 MB" deal at all. Strange a bit... _________________ Sam

Non-motorised tilt would be a good thing. No motor to go wrong.
I wonder how many angles of tilt there are - three, four, anywhere on the arc? _________________ When I nod my head . . . Hit it!

My guess is , from 1 GB (or maybe 2) of CPU board peripheral permanent Ram only 400 Mb
are available for custom PCM since all the rest of Ram capacity is occupied for pre-loading this
huge factory library that must fully dropped in Ram while into none-streaming old technology.
If no compression is supported (that I strongly believe) Pa3X owners will loose 112 Mb of custom samples !
Not to mention Ram loading time or memory preserve method ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

We still don't know if that's the case, but if this happens to be true then a lot of SETs coming from the PA3x are not going to be compatible with the new model for this reason alone, right? I'm sure they've thought of this so there's probably a workaround. _________________ Sam

Actually they will ... but only the uncompressed SETs , as happens after Pa3X with all latest models Pa600/900/Le !
I hope to be wrong ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

I don't understand why they want to reduce our possibilities for good quality user samples... or Korg think that is "new" ROM more than enough ?Superior? ??
Generally i liked PA4x, but couple of demos did not make too much of an impression on me .Anyway ,for this money we should get opportunity to choose ROM or RAM . _________________ https://soundcloud.com/dragan-ptr |

Is it just me or were most underwhelmed by this new keyboard?
I was expecting:
-iPad integration and apps to come as standard (e.g. full screen midi editor together with the standard expected announcement that their would be "some exciting apps to be released soon....")
-bluetooth midi and audio connectivity (Korg Module has bluetooth midi so why doesn't the keyboard?)
-vastly improved sound quality including a far better piano
(it still sounds like the muddy Pa3x piano to me) the Kronos piano should have been included.
how can the PCM be supposedly 10 times the size when the sounds seem to be the same?
-I was hoping for less weasel words like EDS eXpanded which could mean anything or nothing.
How about some real statistics like XXmb of ROM sounds?
Now that I've had my rant - where can I buy one?

Re External screen - is the interface built-in now or do we STILL have to buy the VIF4 card (with that awful resolution)?
VIF4 doesn't appear as an option and the Video-RCA port is definitely there… so...
