Sharp wrote: | Out of the following 3 stages, how far does this go for you?
1: You launch the App and you see a Pa5X Splash Screen graphic for 2 seconds.
2: It then goes to a blue screen with two column called Midi In and Midi Out.
3: The columns should populate with the Pa5X ID, but you can try pressing the refresh button in the bottom left to force a scan.

All of the above (but very small) excluding "pax5 ID"....press refresh the app closes... if I just wait after opening app then closes on its own accord after about 10 sec.... _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

Also underneath "midi in" and "midi Out" it flashes very quickly 2 white boxes on opening app... but if you blink you would miss them... _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

Long story short, my guess is that it’s the same as my KRONOS. The Pa5X will only allow the connection if the USB Port that has the words “DEVICE” written on it is used, and in order to connect your android device to a port like that, you need a normal computer USB cable with an OTG adaptor to convert the PC end of the cable into a compatible socket that fits your android device.
They are dirt cheap though. Samsung for a long time have included them in the boxes with new phones to allow people to connect two phones together to copy data from one to the other. |

D’oh... no worries.
Thanks for all your help. At least we have a 64bit and 32bit version now
Just tried an OTG connection here on my KORG Wavestate, and Behringer Deepmind 12. Worked right away and sniffed out the ID. |

I should have any adapter needed to connect an iPad, if it's a simple code. Otherwise, I'll order a Fire Tablet for the future. _________________ Dave Kalbach

OK just ordered one... but hopefully someone will jump in before this arrives...
If not we can pick this up as soon as adapter arrives, possibly tomorrow...
Thanks for your efforts Sharp and hopefully one way or another we can get you the information you require _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

Not so simple thanks to Apple, but totally doable once this grows into something that can actual talk to the Pa5X. Right now it's just about geteting that ID I need. Once that's known, then I can target the Pa5X directly over midi and tap into everything it has to offer.
Kind regards

No worries, I just ordered a Fire Tablet just to use with this setup. Hopefully you'll get what you need working, and perhaps we'll be able to do more with the connection in the future _________________ Dave Kalbach

Yes that would be great, I would then consider spending the money on a different foot controller apposed to FCB1010 for a smaller foot print as I have X4 Yamaha FC7 expression pedals side by side which I like and all have duties, so no room really for FCB1010 which I would only use as a test-bed at the moment....
Talking of all things midi and foot controller (sort of still on topic and on a lighter note) if you have not seen this before? take a look at Vangelis Custom Midi Rig and all those bloody foot controllers...

Just updated the original link to point to a newer version.
The app now launches in Landscape mode and scales correctly to the size of the screen.
That should tie things over until the ID is known.
