As a forum has been requested for Mac user's it would be useful to know how many of you there are. Vote "Yes" to be counted ...

Additionally if you are a Mac user please comment on the kind of content you'd like to see in a Mac only section. Will it be music software related only ? Or general Mac chat ? How will this be better than the current posts that are Mac related that reside in other sections of the board (e.g. Computer Music)

Look forward to hearing your opinion,

Thanks,

Daz.

I'm a Mac user, and would welcome the new section if there is enough interest. I think it should either be a General section, or broken down into two categories: Music Related and Non-Music Related.

I don't frequent Computer Music's forums, as they tend to go "all over the place" if you know what I mean. Also, too many newbie questions like, "How do I make a beat?" Besides, I'd rather talk to my IA friends.

Them's my thoughts...

Thanks cnegrad !

Just to clarify ... when I say "Computer Music" I mean the forums here such as "Sequencers / Audio recording packages." that live in the section called "Computer Music".

Cheers,

Daz.

Ah, now I understand. d'oh! The only real difference would be that no one would have to say, "Sorry, but I can't use the software you're discussing because it's PC only."

I can't take the poll, because I use both systems. I have two PC's and a Mac midied together, making a simple yes\no poll impossible. Exclamation Question

I think one Mac section is fine IMO. There aren't hundreds of us here so general Mac subjects as well as Mac music software would be fine. The reason this would be better is because, for one reason, new Mac people as well as the rest of us would be able to scan subjects in a small section and find what is needed rather than pages and pages in the General Music section. More isolated Mac related stuff. Two sections would be fine too though.

Here I am! I switched from pc to mac and now I'd like to know more about music related software. So if this new section will start I'll be very happy!

Daz,

If this Mac area becomes a reality, you might want to post a little guide statement that reads something like, " If asking for assistance, please specify whether you're using OS 9 or OS X."

Just a thought...

I used to work in a Mac Store a long time ago, back when the Apple logo was still multicolored, and we used to joke with people that people that bought Macs were people who were part of that Rainbow flag if you know what I mean, and because the Apple was also a Rainbow, then they wanted one.

Funny how maybe a month later, Apple had changed the logo to a solid red, I guess they didn't want to be pigeonholed into that category...
