Hi!
This month I would have loved to post my own arrangement of "Joshua fit the battle of Jericho", but due to some troubles with UPS and my gears, I can't finish that in time.
So I decided to post for the July entry of this OSAM a song I did for a collegue here at the office...Well, it's funny if you can understand the "lyrics", they are in italian of course
http://www.madinitaly.com/OSAM/Diego-0807-Benny.mp3
This collegue (called Benny), is a very funny guy, from Sicily; he lives here in Milan with two other collegues: they always tell us very interesting "details"...So this song is about Benny's funny customs at home!
Thanks for listening,

I love the voices here the most, and hearing Italian reminds me of a Fellini movie or something. I love Italian as it reminds me of Portuguese a bit as I speak Portuguese. This is really fun to listen to and so many different things going on for such a short piece. I guess I miss the humor not understanding the words. But it was fun just the same. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

Hi!
Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen to this very short musical joke
The spoken voice is a Text-to-speech software I found on intenret (http://www2.pd.istc.cnr.it/FESTIVAL/home/demo-interactive.htm : you just type in the words you want to be spoken, and than save back the wav file; it's actually been quite funny to think the right things to say and to arrange them.
I would love to translate this short sentences for you, but it's quite impossibile
Here in Italy, peoples coming from the south are quite famous because of their frequent grammatical errors...so they are quite lost in translation.

Well this was a fun short groove! I only wish I knew what the computer voice was saying!
You've got some wacky synthie sounds in there - fun; I like the dance beat.

Hi DrWho,
thanks a lot for listening.
I'm sorry for this month's entry, maybe you all can't enjoy that piece too much, because of the shortness and of the language, and because you don't know my collegue and his strange personal grammar usage
I really don't want to skip a single month, just to remain into the spirit of the OSAM, so sometimes it can happen you can't post high quality stuff if you're in troubles for various reasons.
I appreciate all your comments, you're so much kind _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic

Do not apologize for this, we are loving the sound here. Just difficult to understand the meaning, but for me it sounds like you have sampled a "foreign" film and used it for lyrics. Very cool to me. I would like to use this computer program. Where did you find it? _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

Thanks a lot for your kind words George!
I enjoyed a lot doing this little music trick, especially using this text-to-speech program: it's not a computer-based software, it's available for free on line at the link I provided in my previous post.
The one I used is based on italian phonetics, but I'm sure you can find the same thing for english; just type on google "text to speech".
Thanks a lot for listening _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic

That's a cool and entertaining song Diego
This is another part of osam, maybe not a traditional song as such, but a creative and fun piece.
Groovy synth work, and the words (even though I don't understand them) complete the song.
Well done! _________________ Chordial |

Short and fun. Kinda reminds me of YMO (Yellow Magic Orchestra) in it's structure and fun. I am with the others and would love to understand it, but I do appreciate how some things just do not translate.

Sorry about the UPS. I am looking forward to whatever you send Diego. Even though I am so poor with other languages, I understand the universal languages...music. It is interesting that you add the voice with the humor of Benny the person. The fact that you threw this together is amazing. I'm not so creative.
Very creative!
Sounds like you guys had fun with this! _________________ “I’m into scales right now.”

Some interesting ideas here; I like the groove and the sounds, it has the 80's disco flavour to it, which is good
it was fun to listen to, you might want to take it a step further at some point |

Ok, now I got you
You maybe right, but this song was born to be short, as it wanted to be a trick for my collegue.
When he'll give us some other points to smile I promise the song will be longer _________________ Diego http://www.myspace.com/diegoinmusic
