These tunes are taking longer and longer. This ones incomplete. I think that makes for 2 or 3 unfinished - Ugh. I need to finish these up b4 2 long.
Anyways - I haven't even named this one yet. One of the things that eats up time is chops - and finding the right sounds. The good news is I've got this one mapped out - better than the last incomplete. I also spent time learning how to record my bass better. This one is in the Jazz fusion category - at least I think so

I was just getting into this when it dropped out.
But I DO understand the frustration. All of us are lamenting about how the summer saps us of creativity (and time).
However you have a really nice piece started here. Nice bass. Great choice of lead sounds. And....plenty of room to develop this further.
Glad you made it in!

Very nice dittos to what has been written above. This has a great feel. The bass just gives this piece a cool rough texture that compliments the soft lead and pads. Great palette of sounds. A Stephen solo would be awesome. He has the feel for they kind of piece.
Excellent! This is Art............Art. _________________ “I’m into scales right now.”

I'm getting like an art rock thingy here, which I love. Power chords for days. This does seem labor intensive as I can hear about a 100 ways you could go with this, but it's a beautiful pallette and seems to have taken some real work even to get this far. I like the verb on the snare too. I would take the big beginning sound then just strip out a bunch of the fullness and make that a verse or something and then let Stephen play a verse part or something. Well, at least you're still at it and putting out some great sounds. I know these won't always get finished in our time frame. Hopefully when the summer winds down we'll get more studio time in. I know for me, we're gearing up for the 4th of July, not a lot of creativity there usually. _________________ George Nelson is 2loose

I'm not sure whether I already asked you this question but what's your recording setup? The quality of your recordings stands out.
The selection of sounds is spot on although the bass is slightly over-present to my taste.
I hope you will finish this one. I'm also waiting for the complete "Interdimension Interlude"

Jon - yes it is wide open - now to focus, focus .... focus ...
Stephen - I would be delighted to have you jam on this. I'll PM you
Jaz - Do you hear any RTF influence here
George - Umm .. there aren't any power chords yet - maybe thats what I need to try out - I always go for these like sus-aug-twice removed inversions! The drums are straight outta M3. I need to go back and add embellishments - the simple loop is just killing me here. Actually I plan on working on m tunes this weekend.
sewa - Funny you commented on the audio quality - I always thought you tunes stand out in that regard! Anyways I run everything thru an emu 1820. The bass was mic'ed. Direct in just doesn't cut it. Everything else - so far - is from the m3. The mix isn't done yet - I am carefully listening for bass timing at present - and will remix many times I am sure. And I haven't forgotten the Interlude
Pecca - Thanxs for stopping by and listening Yea - that voice at the very end is killer.
Stay tuned so to speak _________________ Care for a jelly baby?

Hey Art, I heard from a guy who has special authorization to get in events. He goes to many concerts every year. He told me it was the best concert he had ever been to. He is not a big Jazz fan. I think you will have fun in Boston. That town has so many great musicians there. Get ready for a good time!
I really think that the you and the M3 work well together. _________________ “I’m into scales right now.”

Hi Dr Who
Very cool sound - I love the lead and the way it 'speaks'.
And the bass!!! So clean and strong at the bottom end of the sound. HOW DO YOU DO THAT?
And then it ended!! What a pity.
Hope you get to finish all your unfinished songs.
Regards from
Dee |

hi jazlover - Man I am synced for that concert. Earlier this year I saw the Pat Metheny trio - and that was the best concert ever! man just totally freakin' amaizing! But I am expecting the RTF to be even better - I might just die of pleasure overload!!! The vids on UTube rock!
The M3 is awesome - makes making tunes so much fun !!!
Hi Dee - The only way could get the bass to sound like that was to mic the speaker. And event that looses some of the punch. Thanxs for listening!

WoW again...
This is so pretty without the ellll overdo..(too much at once.....).. . It has real feel for development and has such a nice dance feel as well...This could be quite a song when finnished.
I can agree on unfinished...All I do is unfinished...(actually much of it sounds "unstarted as well, now..." )
Thanks for this!!

It might be unfinished, but it's a very interesting song.
It could be leading somewhere heavier and less chilled as it progresses, I like it!
Please finish it Art _________________ Chordial |
