Hi!

My favourite live rig consist of just 1 keyboard...
I love to focus attention on performing instead of remembering what sound use on what keyb...but of course it's just me.
I prefer to spend a few more time at home to program all sounds that I'm going to use during the live gig, so I step from sound to sound through a switch pedal.

At the moment I've got a Yamaha S90 ES with an Access Virus B desktop, but I'm going to replace the S90 ES with a Korg M3 61 (seriously thinking about the 73 version...) as soon as I sell the Yamaha and the Trinity Rack.

I'm interested in the Fantom G, I think the Motif XS is a great board, I love the Triton series sounds, but I hate the keyb feels (that's why I sold the Triton Studio to buy the S90 ES).

I'm using a Spider Pro stand, with Yammy + Virus on the lower tier, and on the upper one I put the Traveler and the iBook.
Killer live setup, never had a single problem with that...nothing but a heavy load to carry with you and a lot of time to set it up and running on the stage.

regards

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I paly with a pop/rock band.
I must say that the keyb setup highly depends on what kind of music you play; of course, there are some keyb that fits well in a lot of styles, other that don't sound so good in some kind of music...
But IMHO the UNIVERSAL keyboard still has to come... Rolling Eyes

Mine change in years due to the changing of bands... right now (I joined a prog-psichedelic-electronic band) I use the k2661 as a master to pilot a virus b and a v-synth xt. In the past as player for DT cover band I used the Triton, then for a rock-metal band I used a master keyboard plus a motif rack es... everything changes eh eh eh
Regards, Lorenzo

Well, in the past, I've had a Trinity base version, 61 notes, which I still consider a great great great keyboard (I've been in the "nostalgic" period from the next day after I sold it Embarassed )
Then I bought a second hand Triton Studio Pro /w MOSS: amazing sound capabilities, infinite programming power, but unplayable keys, I've never been used to its bad bad action, so I sold it to buy the S90 ES.
In the meanwhile I bought a second hand Access Virus B and a Trinity Rack.

Have you already tried the G series?
I can't try it because in Italy isn't available yet... Crying or Very sad
I'm curious to understand if it can give you real benefits, or not...

I'm son interested to try out this one, to see how the sequencer is usable in live situations, to see if it comes with a PC/Mac editor, I would love to try a lot of things...
The M3 sits on the top of my list, BTW, I'm excited about its possibilities.
I've never had a Roland, so after going from Korg to Yamaha, maybe now I should try the Roland's way, too Smile

I have a PC1SE and a Triton Extreme on top. Both sitting on a Spider PRO stand. The boards are connected via MIDI so when I change setup on the TEX my Kurzweil automatically change to the right setup. That way I only have to manage one program change per song (unless we play our Abba medley, where I am sweating a bit:) Here I just have all the right setups right after one another, and only need to press INC_setup to shift.

I like the sound of the Kurzweil and also the TEX. though I miss my K2500 with KDFX - I don't miss carrying it!
