Could anybody help me identify this pad (synth/patch)
Its been used in alot of electronica & drum & bass over the years.
I suspect it to be a Wavestation, but i havent found it in the legacy version. |

It sounds to me like the Effects are the main part of this sound. It's heavily processed.
It's also sounds to me like it's two sounds. A dark pad, and a Air VOX multisample.
I think if you start by taking something that sounds like a GM Pad, and mixing it with the AirVox multisample. Y
As for the effects, I'm not sure whats being used here, but it sounds like a very controlled Phaser mixed softly with a TalkBox type effect.
You would realy need to put the pad and Air Vox together first before fooling around with the effects to try track this one down. It's an unusual one.
The Air Vox multisample can be found in one of the expansion cards for M1 Legacy. I think it's a red coloured card.
Regards.

Hi Sharp!
Sorry for the late reply. I still cant find this sound. I think you are somewhat right when it comes to the 2 parts of the sound (we´re ignoring the fx rattle that comes in at 12 secs).
Part one is a simple pad/sine/rhodes thing and part two is a noisespectrum or some vox sound. One effect I can spot is delay at least.
But if this is a Wavestation or M1 sound it should be in the presets of the legacy version. Cause i´ve heard it so many times on various records.
I´m getting some feedback that says it could be a Roland JV/JD series sound. But it has to be a synth that is from 92 or earlier. Since I have heard it on tracks from that year.
