To be announced next week apparently, keep an eye on http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/index.html

8 note poly analog synth in the $2K price range.

Thanks to Music Thing and Matrix Synth :

Peter Schwartz (a.k.a Ski) who voiced the AL-1 on the Oasys was apparently involved with this too.

ROFL

With a decent tube my NL2X does most of it.
they are just trying to get $$ from the VSTi hype.
Not worth that kind of $$ in my opinion.

This is so coool!! Shocked

Not to mention, that the rumours about the price was correct...fantastic!!

I love my PER, think its fantastic, and I can't imagine this being any different when it comes to quality and sound.

This could actually be a BIG big hit, for DSI.... Smile

Well..that's how long I was in paradise...
The price here in Norway (by the distributor) is (hold on!) 3700 us$.
The solution will be to import it on my own, or wait....

I assume this synth is a hybrid of some sort, not 100% analog......not for less than $2000, anyway.

After all, look at the price of the Andromeda and PEK.

Apparently not, check out the DSI text :

Quote:
It is an eight-voice synthesizer with a 100% analog audio signal path.

... I guess the somewhat simpler voice path meant DS could get away with this lower price mark.

Well, the distributor of DSI in Norway IS expencive, the PEK costs almost 4800 us...2000 more than in the Us, but still the difference between the two are more than a thousand dollars.
If I import the Prophet '08, the price will end up on something like 2600 dollars with the taxes (as far as I know).

Anyway, I wouldn't choose the '08 over PEK or the Andy, to that they seem way too different.
As a comparison, I bought the Radias (with Keyboard) for about 1800 US, so when you compare that to the listprices, the DSI products seem way too expencive here..

Thank God we have the internet... Cool
