I am an electric bass and keyboard player in a Modern Country/Classic Country/Classic Rock band. That means I play electric bass, or I play left hand keyboard electric bass sounds on my 37 key Novation going into an Alesis Nanobass, and also left hand keyboard stuff using an Nektar GX61 that is powered and supplied with sound by the Korg Module from an old iphone, that has volume pedal for organ swells, strings and so on.

Considering my roles and the amount of gear I have, I think HARD about every single piece of this setup, it's size, weight, and how to integrate it all in a physiology that works for me as a live electric bass player, live keyboard player and singer not only in the gig but also setup, breakdown and transport.

What I am looking for is a way to get more authentic electric bass sounds that I can edit and finesse. What I don't want to do:
-Use a laptop
-Use another kybd with much more than 37 keys, and absolutely no less than 37 keys
-Use a keyboard with mini keys

Things I'm looking for but can't find:
-37 key keyboards that have electric bass sounds in them.
-Sound modules that are the size of the Nanobass, that provide better bass sound than what I already have.

I'm looking to upgrade my setup and make it better, but not deconstruct the whole thing to the tune of a thousand dollars or more to buy new laptop, new software, new hardware, and that whole thing that needs to run two separate keyboard signal chains/keyboard rigs for each hand in addition to the electric bass signal chain.

I'd really like some gear solutions if they're out there, and it would be great if there's anyone like me who is a live, gigging electric bassist who also is the keyboard player, or the sole keyboard player who also plays electric bass.

I'm the only one like me in my knowledge of, and decades experience in my local music community. Nobody else does what I do. I've never seen anyone else do what I do (ok Geddy Lee), and nobody really has enough knowledge even from just the keyboard side to help me figure out how to cost/size/weight-conscious upgrade.

So here I am. Looking beyond my community of local musicians for help.

I'm a bit afraid of NO workaround if ANY piece of gear goes down aside from a one-to-one replacement. What I do is so key to the band, that if the keyboard side goes down, it really changes the setlist, and the sound of the band in so many places is different, missing the at times critical keyboard parts. I'm also thinking of if I ever had to, what could possibly be a "Plan B" to keep the keyboard side going with a gear workaround.
