...but how many of (us) have purchased a second Kronos (second-hand) to replace the one that broke and is nightmarish to fix?

I did, as I wanted to increase my statistical chances of owning a damaged Kronos.

That’s funny, but NOT. One of mine is in for repair right now, this is kind of scary stuff. Parts not available??

But seriously, think between the DIY community, AliExpress and eBay, there should be plenty of options for getting a broken Kronos up and running. Having a separate machine just for spare parts seems excessive. If you got the money, then yes, great option. But also need to consider Korg putting out something better that may make it not worth it. Think of of the folks that purchased a second Triton Extreme just for parts.

yes i feel bad for those of you who had to do that. i own 2 kronos2 88s.
and at some point they had both broke and i was lucky in that i or my tech guy were able to solve the problem(s) they were having. they both at some point got that freezing glitch where they would just feedback and i got that horrible message on the screen that everyone here knows about. the first kronos fix was just updating the software to 3.1.2 or whatever it is. the 2nd kronos when it di that, i had to take it to my repair guy and he finally figured out it was that it needed a hardware update. took him 2 weeks to figure it out. and the crappy thing is he put the kronos back together wrong and it had sticking keys cause he didnt alighn the rack properly. and then i noticed the seq rec button wasnt working, then i had to take back yet AGAIN. then after all that, i still now have a slightly off rec button that work, but sometimes when you push it, it starts and stops real quick. i hate the glithyness of the kronos and i hate the repair guys cause they never give it back with everything in order.
