Are there any general midi implementation principles for Korg's Pa series?
A parallel table of Midi implementations?
I am interested in controlling it with external Midi Controllers. |

For Korg Pa series the general principles for MIDI implementation are in accordance with the MIDI protocol and the information in the manual apply to the Pa500:
- from page 207 description of the Midi setup
- from page 230 how to use Midi in the Pa500
- from page 273 Midi data tables including implementation chart
Midi-In-Controls offers Chord 1 Midi Channel and Chord 2 Midi Channel.
Notes entering one of those two separate Chord channels are sent to the Chord Recognition engine.
There are two special MIDI-IN-channels:
Global is a special channel to simulate the Pa500's integrated controls (keyboard, pedals, joystick) with an external keyboard or controller.
Control is a special channel to receive MIDI messages for remote selection (Styles, Performances,
STS, Style Elements and SongBook entries).
There is a special MIDI-OUT-channel "Chord" to send notes recognized by the Chord Recognition engine to the MIDI OUT. With them it is possible to control an external Device using the Lower track to play chords, even if the track is muted.
