I was wondering how to do a complete backup.
I have already saved the sound data (pcg. and the like) to USB stick.

Lets say the SSD goes funny. And I want a back up.

Is there any Nautilus O.S. or other inforamtion that is essential but that is not normally saved with the regular sound backup?
Stuff that can't be installed on a new SSD easily should the original SSD die?

The only real way to completely back up the Nautilus would be to make an image of the Nautilus' SSD onto another SSD, invalidating any warranty in the process.

The Korg recommended procedure for restoring the system and factory sounds is detailed in the file named something like "NAUTILUS_Update_and_Restore_E1.pdf", found in the Manuals subdirectory in any of the Nautilus System Update files, downloadable from the Korg website

Routinely performing a Save All, from the Media mode Save tab, gives good coverage of the data that need to be backed up, since it makes a backup of all of the Programs, Combis, and Global settings, Songs, plus User samples and multisamples, and other files relating to samples. The Save All backup will save a lot of time getting the Nautilus back to how it was, in the event of a system update issue, or new sound pack install going wrong, or the SSD developing a fault.

Usually, it's not necessary to do a Save All every time a backup is done. Performing a Save PCG should be sufficient, unless new Samples, or Songs, have been created since the last backup.

The files saved during a Save PCG or Save All backup do not contain any expansion Sound Library sample data, although they do contain the Programs and Combis, relating to those expansions, in the PCG file that is saved during a Save All. In the event of their loss, any additionally installed Sound Libraries will need to be reinstalled to restore the Sample and Multisample data relating to those libraries.

Having a thumb drive, labelled something like "Nautilus EXs", dedicated to just those libraries, helps to keep the housekeeping simple.

Something worth mentioning is that, when in Media mode, it is possible to open PCG files and "drill" down through the data structures contained within. Individual Programs and Combi sounds can be played, provided the samples have been loaded, making it a useful way of being able to find out what has been saved. Certainly beats staring at a PCG filename, and wondering what's in it.
