The price would have to fall well below €2000 for the SE variants. So I would say that it should only cost a maximum of 1300-1500€ and then such an investment is only worth it if Korg also comes with extensive updates in the next few years and the device continues to be maintained by the manufacturer. Because today most people make music with software, be it privately or commercially, only a few build a keyboard stronghold at home. And an instrument like this that should also be suitable for the stage would have to offer something special. It has now been two years since the last major update was released. But that can't be everything, can it? The following features would be useful and important:

-Multitimbrality, 2 or 4 compartments, including morphing between the layers
-Sample integration into the FM engine, use of samples either as a modulator or as
Carrier
-Phase modulation for the operators
-Wavemorphing and wavetables as operator waveforms
-Formant Filter
-Additional functions for the envelopes, such as retrigger, loop and delay, are possible
Select different envelope types, e.g. original DX7 with time and level segments.
-Delay and one shot functions for the LFOs
-Expansion of the mod matrix from 12 to at least 16 slots
-Use of the operator envelopes as a modulation source in the modmatrix
-Increasing the number of steps in the step sequencer from 16 to 64 steps
-Pitchshifter Effect

And for a real successor in the new housing: polyphonic aftertouch, a long ribbon controller like the HYDRASYNTH, Vectorstick or XY Pad including vector envelope for morphing, a larger display, memory card slot for SD cards, MPE Support.

Does the SE behave like an USB audio device? If not, that could be added to the list.

And yeah, we can pretty much state there is a consensus about the price. For that money, you can buy a very nice master keyboard. But then it's not one beautiful instrument. Difficult decisions ...
