I installed prologue Sound Librarian onto my iMac. The Mac sees the prologue (it is on the MIDI list). I am connected via USB and using the Mac driver. I ran the Korg driver uninstall program.

When I try to receive data from the prologue, nothing comes over. Instead I get a message to check my MIDI ports. I configured the ports manually, using the recommendations from the manual (and have unsuccessfully tried all combinations).

Suggestions?

The Korg USB drivers are notoriously bad for SYSEX.

Get a usb to midi convertor and two midi 5 pin cables, one for in and out, and use your synths onboard midi in din and out din 5 pin ports.

SYSEX transfers with Korg USB midi = Often fails.

I have used a dozen different Korg models, all of which lead to the same USB driver download, and on all of them, midi note data works reliably MOST of the time, but Midi Bulk SYSEX dumps cause an error and I can neither upload or download midi patch data from korg synths over usb.

A very good quality USB midi class compliant device to try is the U6 Pro from CME
https://www.cme-pro.com/u6-midi-pro-usb-midi-interface-routing-filter/

This one also has a simple midi filter and router feature built into it, which can be very useful, if for instance you want to set up one of your midi controllers to output midi CC control and note data to two other synths, but the midi thru implementations of those synths is either (a) midi thru not provided by the hardware, or (b) it's provided but it sucks.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
