Hi,

I have a PA700.

I bought a .SET collection from someone, containing custom styles, drum kits, pads and custom voices.
The .SET file also contains (multi)samples.
How can I find out which custom (user) voices use which samples?
I want to free up some sample space, because I am not using all the custom voices.

Thanks.

On the Pa3x (but should be similar for Pa700/1000) you go to Sound Mode, Menu, Basic, OSC Basic Tab - and look at the OSC Multisample top left tab. If any of the Osc for this sound (check them all using the right-hand oscillator numbers) use RAM its using User Samples - if they only use ROM its using Korg inbuilt sounds.

As Ruben mentioned it is necessary to look for type "RAM" of each oscillator of each user sound - in worst case that maybe 48 Osc Multisamples for one single user sound (24 Osc Multisamples high and 24 Osc Multisamples low).

With Pa700/1000 in addition to ROM and RAM there is a third type of OSC Multisample - that is "LOC" and occurs in case your arranger includes Local-type Keyboard Sets, but that also are Factory data customized for particular countries.

If you want to free up some sample space due to unwanted custom voices, you can delete them after deleting their multisamples. It is not necessary to delete samples (pcm-files), because for unused samples select the "Not assigned to any Multisample/Drumkit option" and touch OK to confirm. This command deletes only samples not yet assigned to any Multisample or Drum Kit.

If a multisample was only used in one single deleted sound (pcg-file), the multisample (kmp-file) must be deleted separately, else it is orphaned and their samples are not "left unused".
