|

Hi, I’ve been trying to sort thru the Pa4x styles, and work out which ones aren’t in the PA5x. There are some. Makes it a bit difficult because Korg has renamed some of them in the PA5x, so can’t go by a style list comparison of the 2 keyboards, actually have to listen to them. I’ve just been checking
intro 1.
I think it would take a bit of know how to get the imported styles sounding as good as the factory styles, so personally am glad that they kept most of the Pa4x styles in the PA5x. There appears to be more new styles than I thought.
Being able to see the styles as a list in alphabetical order in the PA5x , has made it so much easier to sort thru them. Be glad when I finish. _________________ best wishes

Hi Rikki
When I spent my first hour on the PA5x I was blown away with the overall sound quality.
I think Korg have done a "Yamaha" and worked heavily on DSP and EQ - whatever they did, it is great!!
At first, I thought the hardware had changed but, apparently not - the DACs are same as PA4x
I don't know if it will work on your PA5x but I created a full style SET of all the BONUSWARE styles for PA4x removing any duplicates.
I use it as a review DIRECT SET of all those styles. I know the PA5x is different in this regard.

Cheers

Pete , if you convert PaSeries STY styles to new STG format (via import) , then you can place them in any media
USB drive/mSD in folders and sub-folders with no limit like Mac/Win explorer and play them directly with Style Players
from anywhere , no need of direct Set anymore you can have direct real time access of thousands of styles !
This is valid for PaSeries factory Styles , for Custom styles with sample resources , PCM & Sounds must already have
been loaded in Pa5X for playing them correctly from everywhere !
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Hi Pete, yes they really do sound amazing, as you know I no longer have the Pa4x to be able to compare side by side.
That must have been a job and a half getting rid of the bonus ware duplicates, checked a couple of the volumes and put it aside for time being as I noticed some style names are totally different to the factory version. Needed a day’s break. Haha
Tried your link, unfortunately came up with page not found. _________________ best wishes

Hi Antony, what Style Players are you referring too unless I’ve misunderstood. _________________ best wishes

You misunderstood nothing , it's just in front of you , you have 2 style players with balance ...

Thanks Antony , my imagination running away with me,haha thought you were referring to some sort of pc software media player like for Yamahas.
Yes, that dual player player has been so handy being able to flick across from factory style to Pa4x style on usb, for auditioning , and being able to sort via list alphabetically , saved hours of work. _________________ best wishes
