|

I am using the KORG TRITON EXTREME found in the KORG COLLECTION 3 and 4, and while some parameters are visible as automation some of the MOST OBVIOUS ones seem not to be visible to DAW as Automation and remote controllable parameter including Combie Timber 1-8 volumn level. There is an OSC 1 AMP and OSC 2 AMP parameter per timbre (program in combi patch) but AMP is the oscillator level param not the program level, is different doesn't seem to be able to really reduce the volume much.
Surely the MIX is one of the most common things to adjust in automation?
Has anyone figured this out? There's a massive list of combi timbre settings for envelople (attack, sustain, release) and lots more but not the obvious one which is the program levels.
I can't even midi map them and send CCs into the TRITON VST to set the combi volume levels can I?
Page 40 of the real triton program manual suggests maybe it's possible if the programs/timbres in the combi are set up to be midi-addressable but it doesn' state exaclty how (would it be midi CC #7 on channel 0-7 sending volume as 0-127)? _________________ Korg TR 88

There was some recent discussion on this issue. There is not a specified MIDI implementation message on the Triton Extreme to control timbre mixer levels separately that use the same MIDI channel. But someone did figure out a workaround, using different MIDI channels for each timbre along with DAW MIDI data control/routing/filtering. See the post from philcoul on Sat Mar 05, 2022 1:44 am here:

I borrowed a buddy's laptop so I could do a bunch of testing with the TEX VST to see if I could use it almost exclusively for live gigging. One of the patches I created I have the SW1 and SW2 turning on or off individual programs in a combi as well as using sliders/knobs that control volume of individual programs.
For the program you want to control the volume on in a combi, select it from the Master Prog list on the left. Click on AMP, then select Modulation. You can now control the OSC 1 and OSC 2 amp modulation. Under Source you can select the realtime control knobs, SW1 and SW2, foot pedal, etc. Set OSC 1 and OSC 2 to the same control source. Set the intensity to whatever number you want volume-wise.
In the patch I mentioned I set the OSC 1 and OSC 2 for a piano program to SW1 or SW2 on both oscillators and set the intensity to -99 for both. So when I press the switch, it turns the program volume all the way down.
I don't have his laptop in front of me so can't send screen shots but that should get you started.
