Hi, there used to be a site where one was able to download the earlier model Korg styles. Can’t think for the life of me ,where that was ( old age haha) or if there’s even much point, would they even load into a PA5x?

I might have misunderstood some of the posts as to what the PA5x can and can’t load.

Only had mine for a couple of days or so.

Do you mean these?
https://www.korg.com/au/features/arrangers/bonusware/
This "Bonusware" was officially from Korg. I created a single SET of all bonus ware to use as a DIRECT SET for ease of evaluating all those styles.

See:- http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=122678

As for the factory styles from previous models, I have most of these but they weren't made available officially from Korg.
Let me know if there is anything specific that you want and I'll go through my archives...

Please be aware that I do not own a PA5x yet and so I am not familiar with "style-loading" and any related problems.

Cheers
Pete Very Happy

Thanks Pete,
That was the site I was referring too, I couldn’t remember what they called the styles.
As far as I’m aware , PA5x will only load Pa4x styles.
I can’t remember if I ever re-saved my PA4x style data base as PA4x styles or left them in their original format. Ie pa2x/3X
Most of them I never used anyway.

I found my old psr to Korg style conversions and I think they will work. Fortunately I must have edited those on my Pa4x.
I did the conversion to PA5x, but haven’t had a chance to check them out yet. I will be really pleased if they work.

I’ll let you know how I go.

Hi Rikki,

All previous PA factory styles will work fine on the Pa5x but you have to ‘import’ them which will convert the styles into the new Pa5x single file format.

That bonusware site has all the factory styles up until the Pa3x so there’s loads there.

Take care,
Danny

Thanks Danny,
I got my old data base imported into the PA5x,I think there’s only about 10 or so that didn’t import, they may have been corrupted in the first place, fortunately I had a list for each of the .sets, so I know which styles didn’t work, might find them amongst the bonus ware styles if I need them.

A few of the more recent Pa4x styles on the site are now on the PA5x. Just recognised some of the titles. Haven’t had a chance to do a comparison yet.

Hi Rikki,

Quite a few years back I purchased a PA600 arranger. A young man in France named Dopamine compiled a list of all previous Korg styles into a piece of software that loaded into your current Korg arranger. Great for filling up your user sections. I have them loaded into my PA4X. The latest version of his software is Dopamine 2.6.

Below is a link to his website. I thoroughly recommend the software which gives you access to hundreds of styles and sounds.
