Just wondering how well these two units are holding up. Also, what type of sound quality you feel your recordings have achieved? Thanks!

The D16XD I own is doing pretty good, I want an AIB-8 expansion and to upgrade my hard drive... but there is no support/info for the hardware I want. Korg does not reply to these issues, in this forum.

It took me awhile to get the hang of editing and synchronizing, but the sound reproduces what you put in (DRY).

Some things like the effects don't really stand out. Mainly the EQ seems very transparent and hard to get a full sound. Not Fat At All. Korg should have made a few presets just to add loudness to a track.@@@

I have not had any problem at all, no crashes, no malfuctions or skipping.

Have you tried outboard pres and effects on your vocals? Thanks for the reply. Smile Smile

I've had my DX32xd for over 10 years now and find it to be outstanding.

I use a external Focusrite octo-pre with ADAT out and external rack effects.

It is rock solid, have never had any issues with it.

It can record 6 tracks at once at 24 Bit 96KHz...sounds amazing for dynamic acoustic stuff.

Reliable and portable, I recently recorded a Comedy Festival for TV and the Producers were very impressed with the sound.

I love it and I'll prolly never sell it.

Only drag is that file back-up / transfer is very slow, cause it uses B type USB 1. for this, and you have to copy files to the partition on it's own HD,
Then export to a PC , Mac or CD's to a max of 8 gigs at a time.

Also editing is cumbersome, other than just cut, copy, paste.

I have to replace the 2032 battery now so all of my dates are off as of last year.

Bought mine somewhere around 2006/07. Had been sitting several years. Replaced the memory battery (Summer 2022) and all is well. This one has stood the test of time. Very Happy
