Hi all!

I recently (well, about a year ago) bought a Korg Pa 1000 and I totally love it. I have always been a Roland fan but I must admit that Korg has something all other brands don't have.

However, I also think they could (and should) learn from the other brands because where it shines in abilities and performing, it lacks in robustness and stability. For example, my Korg has an option to record an mp3, but in 1 in 5 recordings, there is a hick-up in the recording, rendering it useless. For example, sending test midi messages to it makes it completely crash. And so on... But that's a whole other topic of course.

This place is about introducing myself, so here it is: I'm in my late 40s, and I've been playing music for 30-40 years depending on what you count. Since some 10 years, I'm a jazz pianist (with classical schooling), let's say professional level hobbyist, but not pro-pro. I know all the theory but I still have a terrible lot to learn to get it at a Keith Jarrett level. I've mostly studied music, never really performed. Currently however, I am trying to build up something with a singer, mostly for fun, but with the option to actually get out there and perform at some point.

Apart from that, I'm also an IT specialist. I've created and sold music software a long time ago and I've created a computer game (Tears Of Betrayal, 2005) where all the music was composed by me. I am considering releasing it as freeware some day, but I want to get it to work on Windows 10/11 before I do that.

I created an account here because I found some answers here and want to be able to join up with my fellow Korg friends.

Just a side note: warning, this site is not safe/secure. I've created a single e-mail address and a single password for this site because it doesn't use HTTPS and it runs on a very outdated server, making the e-mail addresses and passwords for grabs. I've posted about it (as many others did) in the test forum. I hope the administrator will do something about it!
