... it's been so quiet in here that we can hear a needle drop in a bed full of cotton.
No more PA4X talk, issues or ideas to read after the PA5X part of the forum opened. _________________ Cheers 🥂

Personally I encounter no problems, bugs or function-failures at all with my PA4X - absolutely love it!!!

Korg have done much more than destroy their reputation worldwide with the launch of this pathetic and sad excuse of a keyboard.
They have also destroyed this forum so thanks for OP for highlighting this. Pa4X is the best keyboard on the planet, the Pa1000 and 700 are super too.
Posters who believe that Pa5X will ever be fixed are living in cloud cuckoo land or maybe they work for Korg ? Long live Pa4X.
Best keyboard on the planet. At home or on stage, everyone is knocked out by its sounds and performance. _________________ Pa4X 76

Probably not "destroyed" just quietened it whilst we all gasp and stare in amazement at the PA5x saga.
I am still ready to move to PA5x but it has to:-
work
get fixed
get finished
have documentation
have confirmed support from Korg
I have already played one and, if the above list had been achieved, I would be immediately applying for a second mortgage (and hopefully not divorce) in order to buy it.
It has made me realise and appreciate more how superb the PA4x is.
Take care

I imagine for some with limited budgets will consider upgrading to a Pa4x as people go from Pa4x to Pa5x. Depends on how well the Pa4x holds it’s price in the used market. _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700 |

I remember the first day when I opened the box, took out the Pa4X, plugged it in, calibrated the screen and a few other bits. Pressed style and song play and listened to the Demos`. Well, I was taken aback, flabbergasted at what I was hearing. Stunning. I fell in love with the Pa4X from that moment.
The Songbook became my thing. I obtained sheet music for all of my favourite songs but it was later when I learnt how to edit, pan, fx send, master effects, release, cut off etc when Pa4X moved up to a new level. Amazing.
Just when I thought that things could not possibly get any better, I started to use the midi to style function and the results are my “go to” songs now. The intros` and endings are just like the originals recorded by the artists. Unbelievable.
I have never once, not for a single second, had a problem with bugs, shutdown, nothing. Not ever.
I later bought a Pa1000 and 700, they are fabulous too. Never had one second of trouble with them. The midi to style creator plus the editing have turned them into machines that can be used on stage, venues like a church, a wedding, party and all. People will be blown away with the sounds and performance. You can chuck them in the car and go.
Words cannot describe the pleasure that my Korgs` have given to me. Writing this has made me feel good as against writing some of the negative stuff that sometimes we can all get dragged into. _________________ Pa4X 76

What a testimonial about my favorite keyboard. Your post made me realize how many of the useful functions I had forgotten. It is no excuse, but I bought my Pa4X for the reliable reputation and sound. I had been so busy performing that after learning the basics, I neglected to learn and use the functions you outlined above. I no longer have an excuse, and thank you for your reminder of just how good my Pa4x can become.

If you allow me to write.
The Korg Pa4X has not had a proper CHORD DETECTION function from MIDI since its inception.
It still works as BASS INVERT !!!
So, for example, the C chord (G-C-E), which is enough for playing with style, then works with the guitar playing the C chord and the bass guitar G. Then it cannot be heard.
I communicated this problem since the creation of Pa4X v1.... then v2....
then SO v3... and still no fix.
I was told it was ridiculous and I shouldn't cry for this feature.
I wonder WHY is there????? when it doesn't work properly and for several years?????
I made many videos, descriptions, documents, explanations..... but still nothing.
And now, since 8/2019, I am no longer interested in solving Pa4X ....... sadly |

Korg said they completely rewrote the Pa5X operating system from scratch, so the Pa4X operating system was officially dropped. What if we try to ask Korg to release the sources so that the Pa4X user community can try to develop something interesting? |

That would be the best but they would never do that as parts of the code like the arranger engine (chord analysis etc) that are not part of the os but the application that the os runs (OPOS) are still being used in all their arrangers as well as a lot of other parts of the code that are not part of the OS... _________________ ~~~The best keyboard for any player is the one that fits his/her needs!~~~
