Sounds good.

The Arturia Microfreak now has more synth engines as a result of having made use of Mutable Instruments' Open Source policy - no reason why Korg couldn't do the same.

I'd also appreciate some more up to date and esoteric effects, and the replacing of the GM Midi sound banks with something interesting instead.

A KRONOS replacement is in theory a very simple thing.

1: A 64Bit OS allowing for more RAM to be installed and addressed for streaming samples.
2: Add 3 new engines, Wavestate, ModWave, OpSix.

That alone would do it for me.

To throw the ultimate cherry on top, give it the ability to host VST’s.

Sharp.

you will get no argument from me in that regard. those added engines would be a nice touch.

Hit in the center @Sharp.
My opinion is similar.

The way I look at it, the longer Korg do not replace the Kronos, the longer I still have their flagship synth that still has so much potential yet to be explored after seven years of ownership. So no GAS for me.... Very Happy

Maybe Korg know that as well.

So I am glad Smile

I was programming a sound in AL-1 the other day and was reminded how dammed awesome it is.

What I would be seriously intrigued by is the Kronos in VST form, eother as a whole or the individual engines.

Kronos update or replacement requirements

being a relatively new Kronos user, I'm not real familiar with the limitations it might have after I have been playing it as long as most of you have.

I'm curious. Can you tell me what the Kronos limitations are preventing you from doing? I can follow that it would be nice to add some features but I'd like to know what problems these limitations are causing you in creating music or performing.

This may be obvious to most of you but, as I said, I'm a pretty new user and it would help me to understand.

Thank you!

Why would anyone need the opsix? You've already got one - it's called MOD7.
They are much the same except that MOD7 is more powerful
