|
|
Hello. As far as I understand, the Kronos is designed with designated banks for EXi programs, and designated banks for HD-1 programs. I prefer creating programs in EXi as opposed to HD-1
I am running out of space in banks designated for user created EXi programs (USER-CC and USER-DD). However, I have a lot of space in banks designated for HD-1 programs. Is it possible in some way to save EXi programs in banks designated for HD-1 programs? I don't want to start writing over existing programs if it's possible to utilize unused programs.
On another related note, is it possible to increase Kronos storage space in general or save programs/sequencer data externally by connecting an external hard drive?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi there,
Each Kronos bank must be dedicated entirely to either HD-1 or EXi. Those two types are not compatible in program mode. But of course they can be used together in combis.
One option you have is to use one of the usual freeware (Kronos Editor, PCG Tools, TidyKronos) to reorganize your program banks so to free some of them entirely and then accept more HD-1 or EXi programs.
In the unlikely case that you need more than 2560 programs, backups all program banks, then create additional ones and load any of them depending what you need on a given session or gig, etc. |

To expound on the point KK made above regarding organization, if consolidating your programs isn’t sufficient (or this may have been the point all along?) you can consolidate the HD1 programs, or remove those you don’t use, and potentially free up an entire HD1 bank.
You can then reinitialize that bank as EXi rather than HD1, thus giving you a whole extra bank.
Always be sure to back up before making any changes, in case you decide to revert back or have issues in the future. |

you forgot to tell him HOW to change the whole bank slot to EXi.
all you do is go to GLOBAL and theres a drop down menu that has an option to change the whole bank to EXi. you can change EVERY bank if you want to EXi |
