Why does the RK-100S 2 Editor seem so ancient?
Also,
Why does it look like it's a Windows XP window running in a Windows 10 window?

Goh, it is a matter of taste of course. It is simple and straightforward. No fancy animations or buttons.
Anyway it is a recycling/extending/new color theme of the editor for the XL released in 2008. Probably even the code base started on the Radias. That explains it maybe.

Ever looked at the Korg editor for the original Korg. That is really old...
